Senator Joe Manchin, Democrat from West Virginia, was becoming the one man in the Democrat Party the Republicans could turn to for support. For months, Manchin was standing up to the Progressive Democrats and their clean energy quest to destroy the American economy.
Despite pressure from mainstream media, Hollywood elites, and fellow Democrats, Manchin stood on his principles and defied the far-left Democrats. West Virginia is a coal mine state and the push for clean energy will destroy the fossil fuel industry and hurt many West Virginians.
Unfortunately, Manchin broke. The man who was earning a reputation for being a good and decent man finally caved to the pressure of Senator Chuck Schumer and the liberal mob.
Manchin agreed to sign on board with the Inflation Reduction Act which will not reduce inflation but will hurt the everyday American citizen. He tried to hold on to some of the Democrat party defiances in an appearance on Sunday Morning news.
Manchin was a guest on the always honest and upstanding Chuck Todd Meet the Press. The agenda-driven Todd asked Manchin if he hoped Democrats win the mid-term elections and maintain control of the house and senate.
Manchin, to his credit, wouldn’t take the bait. According to Bizpacreview.com, Manchin replied to Todd’s questions while avoiding any answer.
“I think people are sick and tired of politics, Chuck. I really do. I think they’re sick and tired of Democrats and Republicans fighting and feuding and holding pieces of legislation hostage because they didn’t get what they wanted, or something or someone might get credit for something,” he said.
He channeled his inner Biden and Harris by avoiding answering the question. The big difference with Manchin, he made sense. He sounded like an adult. He didn’t giggle like a teenage middle school student or rub his forehead and forget where he was.
Todd would continue questioning him about his desire to see the Democrats win. Senator Manchin refused to let the left-leaning Todd lead him in one direction or another.
“Why don’t we start doing something for our country? Why don’t we just say, ‘This is good for America?’ I’ve always said the best politics is good government. Do something good,” Manchin added.
Todd continued to harass the Senator about answering the question. Manchin replied, “But I’m not going to predict what’s going to happen.”
The confrontation and that is what it was, angered Democrats. Despite his ultimate agreement to join Schumer, the party is still angry with Manchin.
Earlier, Manchin was questioned on CNN by another stalwart of objectivity, Jake Tapper. The CNN personality asked Manchin if he would commit to supporting President Biden in 2024. Manchin declined to answer that question as well.
Manchin was a glutton for punishment as he appeared on ABC facing Jonathan Karl ,who asked him again, if he’d support Biden. He declined to comment. Karl then rephrased his question.
“Would you at least rule out voting for any Republican president?” He sounded as if it was more of a plea than a question. Manchin simply said, “I’m not getting into the 2024 election.
Democrats took to social media immediately declaring he needs to resign or he needs to be voted out. Rumors are circulating that Manchin is considering a switch to the Republican Party. It’s certainly understandable. With friends like he’s got in the Democrat party, why not switch?
