If there is ever a modern-day version of Marie Antoinette, Nancy Pelosi would fit that bill. She has represented San Francisco for thirty-three years. She has built a reputation for being ruthless and uncaring during her time in office.
Many believe the Speaker of the House is running the show these days at the White House. Of course, we will never know for sure. The one thing we do know is that she wields her authority with an unyielding determination.
The latest dog and pony show known as the January 6th Committee is another example of her power. She appointed Republicans Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger to the Committee and removed Jim Jordan from Ohio and Jim Banks from Indiana.
The Representatives were picked by House Minority leader Kevin McCarthy to serve on the Committee. Pelosi unilaterally vetoed their appointment. McCarthy, in response, withdrew all Republicans from serving on the Committee.
Of course, Cheney and Kinzinger, two politicians trying to stay relevant in their careers, jumped at the chance to replace McCarthy’s choices. All polls indicate Cheney’s political career is over in the mid-term elections, where she trails by over twenty points.
McCarthy and his Republicans have fired a shot at Pelosi and her power this past week. Conservativebrief.com is reporting the House Freedom Caucus is looking to remove Pelosi from her seat as Speaker of the House.
“House Freedom Caucus is calling on GOP leader to file and bring up a privileged motion to vacate the chair and end Speaker Pelosi’s authoritarian reign,” the caucus said. Everyone knows it will not succeed. It does send a message to Pelosi.
Polls are showing a Republican tidal wave in the November elections. The American people are tired of the border crisis, tired of violence in the streets, and tired of voting irregularities. If that happens, what is going to happen to Pelosi?
You can’t simply throw her on the guillotine. Congress won’t investigate her actions to find criminal behavior anywhere. That opens a can of worms nobody wants to deal with, because many politicians have skeletons in their closets.
What do they do then? The letter is a clear threat to Pelosi. You may want to start thinking about retiring or we will dig into your actions to find some corruption.
Breitbart reported a recent Punchbowl News poll of congressional staffers showed 60% of those men and women believe Pelosi will retire after the mid-term elections. The poll is at odds with Pelosi’s statements.
She announced earlier this year that she will seek re-election for her Senate seat. Things may have changed between then and now but when you are clearly announced as the most unlikeable member of congress, you may want to rethink your campaign.
To most people, the most memorable moment in her career occurred when she ripped up President Trump’s State of the Union on live television.
Pelosi has been the clear-cut choice for a most disliked member of Congress and that is with people like Chuck Schumer, Liz Cheney, Adam Schiff, Jerry Nadler, and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez serving in the same Congress.
If she can beat those Congressional members, she should probably get a nice big trophy emblazoned with the title on it.
